Quick History:

Hi, my name is Mason and I am 32! I am a barber but work full-time in an office. I love the stability of my full-time job but the creativity of being a barber.

I moved a lot growing up with my dad’s job with the railroad. I grew up between Wyoming and South Texas. I was homeschooled from 2nd grade through high school. I then moved to Dallas for college and that is really where the story begins.

I started college at Christ for the Nations (CFNI) in south Dallas for a diploma of practical theology in Pastoral Leadership. After CFNI, I went to Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) to finish out my bachelors degree. My degree, Professional Development, allowed me to transfer the most credit hours in from CFNI and complete a Bachelor of Science. It is a pretty general degree but I was able to take most of my course work in Business Management and Counseling/Psychology which was good because I didn’t fully know what the Lord had for me in my career, if you will.

After finishing my degree, I continued working for SAGU until we moved to Missouri. Once we got to Missouri I worked a few jobs and we eventually bought a house. All the while trying to start our family, but we were just unable too. We finally got pregnant and we were overjoyed that we even got there, then we lost Malachi very early. We got pregnant a little while later and made it to 16 weeks 6 days with Zadok before we went into pre-term labor. After losing both of the boys, I realized life is too short to work a “dead end” job. So I went back to school for hair.

I loved doing hair and I always will but I needed stability in my pay especially after 2020. So, I went back to work in an office and cut hair on the side through the week. I enjoy it so much more knowing that the “bread and butter” is already made and cutting hair is the fun way of connecting with others.
