/ˈpərpəs/ • noun: the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists.
All of creation was made for the purpose of bringing God glory (Psalm 19).
“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.” Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG

Our purpose is to love God and love people in whatever arena you’re called to—medical, behavioral health, government, business, parenting, etc.—mixed with the beauty of what makes you you. All that you are, even the parts that need to be refined, has been called for a purpose. There is only one you. There is only one me.
.
My purpose I feel is clear. My calling, on the other hand, becomes more fine-tuned and yet conceptual the longer I walk with the Lord & give Him my ‘Yes’. This I do know: I’m called to carry and deliver Him to those I encounter. I carry joy and hope, much as a product of His presence in painful places. I feel called to deliver that in the way I live, in the middle of my story, and with my voice... writing, singing, speaking, living. I have a passion for wholeness, confronting lies to see Father rightly, and for the bride of Christ to return to Him, to represent Him accurately. It’s looked like 1-1 conversations and speaking up and counseling and hugs and life coaching and working with the homeless and foster youth and mothering and being gracefully confrontational. Non-specific as it may be. Ha! But it’s who He’s called me to be, y’all, no matter the occupation he has me in! I understand that I may be the only Jesus someone encounters, so if that’s the case I want to represent Him well wherever I go. Holy Spirit, help me do so.
